The flame of academic excellence

The flame of knowledge shines throughout the Cambridge Christian School with an academic program that transcends the classroom and any specific textbook.  Teachers make every effort to bring the academic subjects to life for students in tactile, practical and memorable ways.

Small class sizes and individualized attention ensure that each and every student has the opportunity to explore his or her potential for academic success.

Students are challenged at all levels from PS through grade 12 with a curriculum that is vertically aligned in all academic subjects so that each grade is an extension of the prior year and a foundation for the next.

Students in the lower school are expected to establish a foundation not only of knowledge but also of study skills and habits that will serve them well throughout their time at Cambridge Christian School and beyond.  While the lower school curriculum is designed to challenge each and every student to work at or even above grade level, teachers are eager to recognize and identify students with specific strengths and aptitudes so that opportunities for personalized acceleration are available for every student.

Cambridge Christian School continues its program of academic excellence in the middle school where students are called upon to utilize their study skills at a higher level.  Personal accountability is a key facet of the learning process in the middle school, and students are expected to take increased responsibility for their own learning through independent research projects.  The goal of the middle school is to promote, facilitate, encourage and reward independent thinking and produce students who eagerly meet the academic challenges placed before them while also encouraging their ability to work together with peers on an academic level.

The upper school program at the Cambridge Christian School is designed to polish students’ skills and empower them to be autonomous learners.  Enhancing the curriculum are twelve Advanced Placement courses available in math, science, history, English, and psychology.  With 100% college acceptance among its graduates as the long-established standard, the upper school academic program offers students a premier college-preparatory education.

The highest standards have been upheld in the selection of administration and faculty as well as in the established scholarly atmosphere of CCS.  Even beyond a challenging academic environment are faculty members who model a Christian lifestyle and bring a Christian worldview to the subjects they teach.
