Derek Self Commits To Webber International University

Babson Park, FL – Derek Self a senior from Cambridge Christian, has made an early commitment with the Webber International baseball team, Monday, November 30th, 2009.
Self was an All-State and All Hillsborough County Player in 2007-2009 as a pitcher and an outfielder, while helping lead his team to the Class 1A State Championships this past season.
Derek was 6-0 with a 2.27 ERA in 37 innings pitched, with 40strikeouts and only walking 6. At the plate as the lead off-hitter, Self batted at .342 with 35 runs scored, 14RBI’s and 18 stolen bases on 19 attempts. Not only is Self an outstanding player on the field, off the field he is currently holding a 4.0 grade point average.
Derek is the son to Jim and Luisa Self and resides in Tampa, Florida.
