Mission Statement:

In keeping with the school’s mission to glorify Christ in all that we do and to demonstrate excellence in all areas of student life, the Strength and Conditioning program will address the area of striving for excellence in the field of Athletics. To accomplish this goal the following objectives have been established.

Objectives:

v    Enhance Performance of All Team and Individual Sports

Ø     Through: Strength/Power, Explosiveness, Speed, Agility, Flexibility, Body Composition, Nutrition, and being as Sport-Specific as possible in our training.

v    Injury Reduction:

Ø     An injured athlete cannot participate therefore performance will be hindered. By maintaining healthy joints, muscles, etc. our athletes will spend more time on the field/court and less time off due to rehabbing injuries.

v    Positive Mental Attitude

Ø     It couldn’t be truer that the saying “a strong body will lead to a sound mind.” In becoming more confident with their bodies and athleticism, it is the goal that our student athletes will be more assured, accountable, disciplined, mature, and exhibit leadership in all aspects of their social and spiritual lives.

v    Become a Champion Athlete

Ø     Even team sports are made up of individuals; therefore, it is our goal that each athlete should be as good as they could be individually to contribute to the overall good of their team/sport. Athletes will be trained with the intention of becoming a better overall athlete with the mindset that being trained comprehensively is superior to focusing solely on one sport where overtraining, stagnation, and overall athleticism will be adversely effected. To achieve this, each athlete will be tested in different areas and constantly challenged to attain personal bests in each area of their respective sports and weight room training. In doing so, this will enhance the performance of each team. To aid in this endeavor a Recognition Program has been established and it is our desire that each athlete achieve the highest recognition possible during their time here at CCS.
